i am leasing a new car, been paying for 3 years and this month i couldn’t afford insurance so i stopped driving and started bike riding. well the insurance was cancelled for like 2 weeks and my registration got suspended (reinstated insurance but couldn’t get my registration online) and it says i have to fill out some sr22 form and pay 50.00 and keep insurance for 3 years! what’s up with that?? on top of that, i totally forgot when i first got my car, they told me i had to keep insurance on my car all the time, even if i wasn’t using it! so i’m really scared and i need to know what happens after i do the sr22 form (unless you know a way to get around this) and finish paying my loan. why do i have to have insurance on it. oh, don’t know if this matters but i have gap coverage. will they repo my car just bec i didn’t have insurance for 2 weeks??? please help, no mean answers as i’m terrified. thanks.
